Memorial Day

Memorial day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces. The holiday is on the last monday of May. On this day people visits graves and decorate them with flowers to those who have served and passed away in the war. To show respect and gratitude to them.

In 1863, the cemetery dedication at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was a ceremony of commemoration at the graves of dead soldiers. Local historians in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, claim that ladies there decorated soldiers' graves on July 4, 1864. As a result, Boalsburg promotes itself as the birthplace of Memorial Day.
To show respect My family and I will have a picnic and visit a few graves to gift with flowers. Memorial Day is a great day to show gratitude to those who gave everything for the better of this country. It’s one of the most known wars of america’s history and we need to show how thankful we are to be here and free today because of those soldiers that were brave enough to make a change.
