Memorial Day

Memorial day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces. The holiday is on the last monday of May. On this day people visits graves and decorate them with flowers to those who have served and passed away in the war. To show respect and gratitude to them.

In 1863, the cemetery dedication at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was a ceremony of commemoration at the graves of dead soldiers. Local historians in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, claim that ladies there decorated soldiers' graves on July 4, 1864. As a result, Boalsburg promotes itself as the birthplace of Memorial Day.
To show respect My family and I will have a picnic and visit a few graves to gift with flowers. Memorial Day is a great day to show gratitude to those who gave everything for the better of this country. It’s one of the most known wars of america’s history and we need to show how thankful we are to be here and free today because of those soldiers that were brave enough to make a change.

Eight great reasons to tell the truth:~Barbara A. Lewis

  1. Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There’s less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict.
    2. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed
        or punished.
    3. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened.
    4. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than lying
        (and getting caught).
    5. Other people trust you more when you tell the truth.
    6. You don’t have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your  story
        straight.
    7. You gain a reputation for being truthful - a trait most people value.
    8. Telling the truth helps you feel secure and peaceful inside.

These reasons are like golden rules because they are like guides and information to why should you always tell the truth. It does you more harm to tell a lie than to tell the truth right away. Like they say one lie leads to another. It’s better to tell the truth because like that people will know that you are an honest person who doesn’t like to and doesn’t want to lie.

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity (self-worth, integrity, and self-esteem.”~Dr.Laura Schlessinger

The best reward is the one where you feel great about yourself. It means having else smile instead of of thinking of just yourself. With just doing good in your environment it increases your self esteem, integrity, and most importantly you will respect yourself more just as well like other who will respect you. Whenever you do the right thing it’s just a wonderful thing because it just boosts you higher. It helps you instead of harming you. It just does you more good when you think about helping others and not just yourself.

“You knew what I was when you picked me up.”

The snake can symbolize the thing that can bite you or get you back in the future. It’s like your bad karma that will pay you back when you decide to pick up a bad habit. Like how the Indian was persuaded to pick up the snake. He knew what it was and what he can do to him but he still chose the wrong and the snake got him back by biting him. Which led to his death. It symbolizes how other things can seem harmless and at times beautiful just like the snake with his unique scale pattern but in the end if you know what the outcome might be don’t do it. Don’t let anyone else convince you to do something you know is bad because looks can be deceiving.

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.”~Theodore Roosevelt

You always got to make the right choice at any moment because it will come back and get you when you make the wrong decision. You can never be wrong when making the right decision to do something like telling the truth. The best thing you can do at any moment is to do the right thing. Doing the right thing will always benefit you instead of hurting you. It will always benefit you. Because if you choose the wrong it will get you back like karma.

"Nothing is gain in doing what's wrong."
~Wilford Woodruff

I necessarily don't think this quote is true. Sure it's the wrong decision to make to do what's wrong but in my perspective you do gain something. You gain knowledge and experience. And it's true. Let's say at the time you decide to do something because everyone else thinks it cool and is doing it at the moment. So you decide if they can why cant you. But then let's say you got caught and get in trouble with the school or parents etc. You then learn your lesson, and you now know not to do it again because you don't want to receive another punishment. And now if someone else you know wants to go down the same path you went you can easily convince them not to because of what happened to you wen you did it. You'll have the experience and knowledge.
  Random Topic:
Image result for bunniesSince I get to choose any topic for this day I will talk about a bunny. Why? you may ask.. well because this last Friday I caught a bunny that was loose literally outside my house. And it;s kind f weird because i'm always finding animals like birds, chickens, dogs and now a bunny. So on Friday morning my dad and brother were outside getting the car ready fro my dad to take my brother to school. Me I decided to walk so I can have more time to sleep. So apparently they say the exact bunny and they tried to capture it but failed and obviously my dad gave up and said to leave it alone. Time skip to the afternoon I always go pick up my sister since she stays after school and by the time we came back I could see my brother and his friends trying to capture the bunny again. It was difficult because it would run back and fourth across the street, and go under cars. So I decide to help ad it took a while but we managed to chase and trap it in some plants and then I got my brothers sweater and I threw and got the bunny as quick as I could. It was really big and heavy. My parents have allowed us to have it for a while but I plan to set it free in a ranch that we go to. But other than that it was fun and it reminds me of when i had a lot of bunnies when I was small but at the time I didn't know how to take care of them I would always have the cage open, but now I know.

“It’s a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time.”
~Pam Knox

It feels good when someone decides to do the right thing. And when you do you feel a good feeling with in. Even if you come close to choosing the wrong but having the courage to stop and say or do something about it. It’s just a great thing. You gotta speak up your mind when know what you’re doing is wrong. If no one has the value to do so them they are not great people in the first place. It’s what you think that matters the most.

“I have been asked what I mean by ‘word’ of honor.’ I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.” ~Karl G. Maeser

Once you give your word of honor nothing should stop you from breaking. You made the decision to speak and make a promise then you keep up your word and fulfill that promise. A promise is a promise and if you know that you can’t keep the promise then why even make it at all. A promise is like a responsibility that you have to take action in. you take your promises to the grave.
