It's always the right thing to tell the truth but it has to be the entire truth. For example lets say you do you homework assignment but you only complete 80% of it because you decide it was good enough and you need the extra time to go out with your friends. you did the right thing doing your homework but your still going to get a bad score because you didn't finish the entire thing. In order to get that perfect score you had to complete the whole thing other wise its wrong. Just like when you tell the truth you tell the whole truth.
